The County of San Mateo continues to work to protect public health and safety in response to the novel coronavirus known as COVID-19.

Jan. 15, 2021: Notice of San Mateo Superior Court Closing on Inauguration Day: Wednesday, Jan. 20

Due to reports of possible protests and plans for violence at state capitols and other government buildings including federal and state courthouses throughout the country on inauguration day, the San Mateo Superior Court will be closed to the public on January 20. The temporary closure includes juvenile courts at the County Youth Service Center, court proceedings at its South San Francisco branch, as well as court operations at the County Center in Redwood City.

Jan. 12, 2021: San Mateo County Expands Free Wireless Internet

The County of San Mateo is bringing free high-speed wireless internet access to areas of the North Fair Oaks and Stambaugh Heller neighborhoods of Redwood City. This expansion of SMC Public WiFi provides free wireless Internet access to 665 unconnected K-12 students and to thousands of residents and community members who live or visit these neighborhoods.
