The County of San Mateo’s Emergency Operations Center (EOC) remains open to coordinate countywide response and communications in response to the situation. Redwood City – The San Mateo County Board of Supervisors on Tuesday will consider an urgency ordinance banning evicting small business commercial tenants directly impacted by the COVID-19 for non-payment of rent. If approved at the Tuesday, April 7, 2020 Board meeting, the ordinance will take effect immediately and apply only to businesses under $2.5 million annually in gross receipts in the unincorporated areas of San Mateo County. Cities may enact their own moratoriums on commercial evictions.
