San Mateo County District Attorney Stephen M. Wagstaffe today advised San Mateo County residents to be alert for scams related to the distribution of COVID-19 vaccines.

Notice of San Mateo Superior Court Closing on Inauguration Day: Wednesday, Jan. 20

Due to reports of possible protests and plans for violence at state capitols and other government buildings including federal and state courthouses throughout the country on inauguration day, the San Mateo Superior Court will be closed to the public on January 20. The temporary closure includes juvenile courts at the County Youth Service Center, court proceedings at its South San Francisco branch, as well as court operations at the County Center in Redwood City.

San Mateo County Health issued a health alert to clinical and social service program providers about the mental health toll COVID-19 is taking on the community. In San Mateo County, clinicians and health care programs report a substantial increase in youth and young adults with significant mental health issues and more cases of substance use, which mirrors national data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) in its August and December reports.
