Update on County Response to COVID-19: Revised Health Orders, COVID-19 Testing and Case Count

Nov. 3, 2020Redwood City – The County of San Mateo continues to work to protect public health and safety in response to the novel coronavirus known as COVID-19. The County of San Mateo’s Emergency Operations Center (EOC) remains open to coordinate countywide response and communications in response to the situation. Revised Health Order for Congregate Care Facilities Expands Guidelines for Compassionate Care Visits

San Mateo County Health Officer Dr. Scott Morrow has issued a new health order revising the visitation guidelines for long-term congregate care facilities to expand indoor visits for compassionate care. The order applies to facilities such as those for skilled nursing, residential care for the elderly, residential treatment centers, hospice facilities, group homes, and others providing care in a residential setting.
