Asian Women’s Shelter- Queer Asian Women & Transgender Support

Asian Women's Shelter's Queer Asian Women and Transgender Support (QAWTS) Program, one of the first and only programs of its kind in the nation, has been at the forefront in addressing intimate partner violence in the LBTQ community. CUAV- Community United Against Violence

The GLBT Historical Society houses one of the world’s largest collections of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender historical material. The GLBT History Museum is the first full-scale, stand-alone museum of its kind in the United States. Queer Cultural Center (Qcc)

Queer Women of Color Media Arts Project (QWOCMAP) promotes the creation, exhibition and distribution of new films/videos that address the vital social justice issues that concern queer women of color and our communities, authentically reflect our life stories, and build community through art and activism.

El-La Programa Para Translatinas

El/La surgió en 2006, después de que Proyecto ContraSIDA Por Vida (PCPV) perdio su financiamento. San Francisco Human Rights Commission-- LGBT ADVISORY COMMITTEE (LGBTAC),

The Lesbian Gay Bisexual Transgender Advisory Committee (LGBTAC), established in 1975, provides assistance and advice to the Commission regarding discrimination against the LGBT communities, advocates for the civil rights of persons with AIDS/HIV, and educates the LGBT communities about a diverse range of issues that impact their communities.


San Francisco Human Rights Commission-- LGBT AGING POLICY TASK FORCE (LGBTAPTF),

Launched in October 2012, the LGBT Aging Policy Task Force (formerly known as the LGBT Seniors Task Force) advises the Board of Supervisors on matters relating to the needs and concerns of senior members of the LGBT community. The Task Force holds hearings and takes testimony regarding LGBT senior issues and related matters and reviews, updates and creates implementation plans for recommendations in existing reports including: the 2003 HRC Report on LGBT Seniors, the San Francisco HIV Health Services Planning Council Repot on HIV/AIDS and Aging and the 2011 Report of the SRO Task Force.

Castro Senior Center

The Castro Senior Center offers a variety of services open to all seniors, and has also added services specifically for LGBT seniors. A monthly LGBT group gathers for social time and to discuss topics selected by participants. Guest speakers have included local commissioners and a member of the Board of Supervisors.
