    REDWOOD CITY, Calif. – Controller Bob Adler provides details of the financial health of San Mateo County in a report released today. 

    The Popular Annual Financial Report (PAFR) summarizes the essential information contained in the County’s Comprehensive Annual Financial Report, which was released in October. The PAFR examines the fiscal year that ended June 30, 2013, and provides a look to future challenges and opportunities. 

    The PAFR provides the following key information: 

    • Letter to the Citizens of San Mateo County 
    • Government-Wide Financial Position 
    • Capital Assets and Unfunded Liabilities 
    • Government-Wide Results of Operations 
    • Tax Revenues 
    • General Fund: Financial Position, Results of Operations, and Working Capital 

    The Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA) has given, for the eleventh consecutive year, an Award for Outstanding Achievement in Popular Annual Financial Reporting to San Mateo County for its PAFR for the fiscal year ended June 30, 2012. The Award for Outstanding Achievement in Popular Annual Financial Reporting is a prestigious national award recognizing conformance with the highest standards for preparation of state and local government financial reports.
