Jade Howard is an engineer in the quantum science industry and a proud resident of North Fair Oaks. While earning her B.S. in Physics from UC Santa Barbara, she helped advocate for underserved students at her university as vice president of the campus organization UDIP (Undergraduate Diversity and Inclusion in Physics) and active member of its partner organization, oSTEM (out in STEM).

Jade's advocacy is molded by her lived experience as a first-generation college graduate and queer woman in STEM. She is passionate about improving the equity and wellbeing of LGBTQIA+ individuals, with a specific focus on supporting the safety, security, and visibility of trans women and nonbinary members of the community. As a commissioner, she strives to build a better future for the LGBTQIA+ community by empowering all identities to have their voices heard in local government.

In her personal life, Jade enjoys attending punk shows, reading romance novels, watching scary movies, and spending time with her fiancée and friends. She also occasionally makes bad art.
