Karen is a Bay Area native with extensive background in providing mental health services to women and their families over the last eighteen years. Since 2009 she has provided care to underserved populations in San Mateo County working as a counselor, clinical case manager, and psychotherapist for organizations such as Service League, LiveMoves, StarVista, and Sutter Health.
She is passionate about treating and advocating for women in our community challenged by homelessness, intimate partner violence, substance use, and criminal justice system involvement.
Karen holds Bachelor’s degrees in Psychology and Women and Gender Studies from the University of California, Davis. She obtained her Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology from the Institute of Transpersonal Psychology in Palo Alto. She is currently a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist working for San Mateo County Behavioral Health and Recovery Services.
