Amy McHugh is a seasoned professional with over 20 years of leadership experience in customer success, finance, and operations. She joined Leadership Council San Mateo County in 2022 and currently serves as Director of Finance and Operations. Amy’s participation in the Council’s 2024 Leadership CORPS Immersion Program sparked her interest in civic leadership and led her to join the Commission on the Status of Women.

Prior to her current role, Amy spent nearly a decade in edtech as Director of Customer Success at EdSurge. She has also held finance and human resources leadership positions in both nonprofit and for-profit organizations. Her passion is helping start-ups expand and build on their successes. Amy is deeply committed to community engagement and has served on the boards of the San Mateo High School Foundation and the Hillsborough Schools Foundation.

Originally from New York, Amy has lived in San Mateo County for 25 years. She holds a BS from Dartmouth College and an MBA from New York University. In her free time, she enjoys traveling with her family, playing tennis and pickleball, and baking.
