May 2026
Construction efforts have commenced for the Project. Contractor is currently installing concrete valley gutters.
April 2026
Construction for the Project is anticipated to start in April 2026.
March 2026
On February 24, 2026, the Project was awarded by the County of San Mateo Board of Supervisors to Radius Earthwork Inc.
February 2026
The Project has been advertised for bids in January 2026 and is scheduled for bid opening in February 2026.
January 2026
100% project plans and specifications has been completed. The Project is anticipated to be advertised for bids in middle of January.
November to December 2025
100% project plans and specifications in development.

90% project plans and specifications under review.

Development of 90% project plans and specifications completed.

Development of 90% project plans and specifications in progress.
July 2025
Development of 90% project plans and specifications in progress. The Department has completed collection of additional topographic survey data of 18th Avenue extended project limits.
June 2025
Development of the 90% project plans and specifications is currently underway. To address existing ponding issues downstream on 18th Avenue and to replace deteriorated concrete curb, gutter, and valley gutters, the project limits have been extended to Bay Road. The Department is in the process of collecting additional topographic survey data and assessing appropriate surface treatments and potential utility replacements along this extended segment. Due to this expanded scope, construction is now anticipated to begin in Spring 2026.

Survey results have been calculated. Survey result letters will be sent by mail to property owners.
March 2025:
Virtual public meeting held March 5, 2025 (Wednesday) from 6:30-7:30PM via Zoom (Click here for the video). Survey due to County on 03/19/2025, for both Park Road and 18th Avenue.
February 2025:
The Department of Public Works sent out property owner survey letters.
January 2025:
To prepare and mail survey letters to Property Owners.

About the Project
The Project involves the proposed roadway reconstruction of 18th Avenue from End to Bay Road, and Fair Oaks Avenue from 18th Avenue to Marsh Road in the unincorporated North Fair Oaks Area.
The proposed Project scope will also include replacement of sanitary sewer facilities and installation of new drainage infrastructure on 18th Avenue.
West Bay Sanitary District is anticipated to start construction work on sanitary sewer facilities located on 18th Avenue from 608 18th Avenue to 775 18th Avenue by mid-September 2025. For more information, please reach out to West Bay Sanitary District at (650) 321-0384.
