About the Project

The project will extend CSA 11 water lines to serve Pescadero Middle/High School and the future County Fire Station No. 59. Project includes installing approximately 1.27 miles of 6-inch PVC water main and 7 fire hydrants between Pescadero Middle/High School and the existing CSA 11 water main at Pescadero Creek Road and Stage Road.

August 2025 - March 2026

UPDATES

February 2024 – San Mateo County Planning Commission approved the Coastal Development Permit to extend CSA 11 water pipelines to service Pescadero High School and the future County Fire Station No. 59
April 2024 – Executed agreement with GHD for provisions of final engineering, grant management, and bid and construction phase services for this project
September 2024 – San Mateo County Local Agency Formation Commission approved the sphere of influence amendment for CSA 11 and annexation the territory where Pescadero High School is located
March 2025 – The Plans, Specifications, and Estimates have been finalized for the Project. The Project is scheduled to be advertised for bids.
May 2025 - Bids were received on May 8, 2025 and the lowest apparent bidder is GradeTech Inc.
June 2025 – On June 10, 2025, the Project was awarded by the County of San Mateo Board of Supervisors to GradeTech Inc.
August 2025 - GradeTech mobilized on July 30. Work underway will include but not limited to potholing, installing BMPs, and installing new water pipe on Pescadero Creek Road. A shutoff was required to connect the new 6-inch water line to the existing water line. Notices were distributed to the affected properties. The contractor is installing the new water line on Cloverdale Road.
September 2025 - GradeTech continues to install BMPs and new 6-inch pipe on Cloverdale Road. Traffic delays are expected. GradeTech continues to install new pipe on Butano Cutoff and installing new fire hydrants. Additionally, the contractor is working on the school’s property to install the new backflow prevention device and new 4-inch PVC service line.
