UPDATES
  • July 2023 - Geotechical Evaluation and Report was completed.

  • February 2024 - Start design of repair. A site walk was held with JOC contractor.

  • March 2024 - 65% Design PSE being developed.

  • April 2024 - 65% Design PSE review. BCDC to review if project limit is within an existing permit.

  • May 2024 - 65% Design PSE review.

  • June 2024 - 90% Design PSE Review.

  • July 2024 - BCDC Permit application is in review. 100% Design PSE Development.

  • August 2024 - BCDC provided comments and the Designer and County provided updates to application package. 100% Design PSE Development.

  • September 2024 - 100% Draft Design package in review. JOC Contractor to submit proposal.

  • October 2024 - BCDC permit secured. Notice to Proceed to be issued for construction this October. Pending cost proposal from JOC Contractor.

  • November 2024 - Contractor Proposal approved by County. Contractor and design team working through submittal review.

  • December 2024 to March 2025 - Contractor is currently procuring long lead items. Site is winterized until construction work can commence. Contractor installed temporary erosion control measures. This section of the trail remains closed.

  • April 2025 - Construction started. Contractor performed clearing and grubbing, constructed ramp and bench down the trail in preparation for installation of concrete piers for the retaining wall.

  • May 2025 - Contractor to install concrete piers and steel piles for the concrete lagging retaining wall.

  • June 2025 - Construction is ongoing with installing concrete laggings in between the steel piles, as well as backfilling the trail and regrading the slope. Additional concrete laggings need to be procured to finish the construction of the wall.

  • July 2025 - Construction is anticipated to resume mid-July when additional concrete laggings are fabricated and delivered.

  • August 2025 - Construction is anticipated to resume late-August when additional concrete laggings are fabricated and delivered.

  • September 2025 - Contractor to resume at mid-September for installation of concrete lagging for the retaining wall, drainage features, backfilling of the existing trail and paving of the trail.
