September to December 2025

Anticipated Construction Schedule

• September 4 to 9: Sign Installation
• September 11 to October 10: Road Repairs
  • September 11 to 12 –  Palomar Areas
  • September 15 – Oak Knoll Areas
  • September 16 to October 10 – Emerald Lake Hills Area
• ​​​​​September 15 to 19: Striping & Pavement Marking Removal
• October 6 to 30: Micro-surfacing
• October 30 to January 23: Striping, Pavement Markings

Residents will receive advance notice before Microsurfacing begins

Please note: The schedule is subject to change depending on weather, field conditions, or other unforeseen factors.

August 2025

Construction is scheduled to begin in early September 2025. Initial work will involve the installation of construction signage, pavement repairs, and removal of existing striping. Once that phase is complete, crews will begin micro-surfacing and re-striping roads. Please be aware that noise impacts are expected near active construction zones.  
Residents will receive advance notice through door hangers. 

Traffic Impacts
During construction, the County anticipates lane closures, restricted parking, and increased traffic congestion. Travel through the area may be slower than usual, and significant delays are expected. We encourage residents and commuters to plan ahead and allow extra time for travel through the affected areas.

Work Schedule
Construction work will typically occur Monday through Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Traffic control measures, including signage and flaggers, will be in place to guide drivers safely through or around work zones. Detour signage will be installed as necessary to maintain safe and efficient traffic flow.

The Department of Public Works will share updates and information throughout the construction period.

July 2025

100% Project Plans and Specifications completed. Project is out to bid. Bid Opening Date is set for Tuesday, July 22 at 2:30 PM.

About the Project

The work to be done consists, in general, of performing pavement repairs, placing micro-surfacing on various roads in the Emerald Lake Hills Area, Oak Knoll Manor Area and Palomar Park Area in the unincorporated areas of San Mateo County. It also includes  replacement of traffic striping, pavement repairs, and pavement marking.
