Location

North of Shaw Road at San Mateo Ave to the San Francisco Bay Trail at Belle Aire Road and Harbor Way, South San Francisco

About the Project

The County is working with the cities of South San Francisco and San Bruno to determine improvements to Navigable Slough, a tidally influenced tributary to Colma Creek. Navigable Slough is an unimproved earthen channel that passes under Hwy-101 and South Airport Boulevard via culverts.

Previous studies suggest that channel improvements may have immediate benefit to the Belle Air neighborhood, north of San Bruno Avenue and Pine Street.

The County, South San Francisco and San Bruno are collaborating on a feasibility study to determine whether to pursue construction of a new tide gate structure at Navigable Slough.
