About the Project
The Project repaired a 35-foot-long section of embankment on Alpine Road in the unincorporated Los Trancos Woods area of San Mateo County. Corte Madera Creek exists below the embankment. Previously, the Alpine Road shoulder was unsupported due to the recent movement of the embankment towards the creek. Repairs consisted of extracting the rock and soil within the existing embankment and reconstructing the embankment using rock, soil, and bioengineering methods.
