  • It's time to say thanks and goodbye to two key staff members from the Sheriff's Office who've served the North Fair Oaks community and to extend a hearty welcome to two new faces.

Lt. Timothy Reid recently retired from the County after 26 years of dedicated service. He was an intelligent, approachable, and law enforcement leader in the community. He will not miss his long-distance commute, but he will miss the community. We wish him the best!

Lt. Mark Kuykendall from the Sheriff's Office Gang Intelligence and Crime Suppression Units will take his place and be in charge of the North Fair Oaks community. Congratulations and welcome, Lieutenant Kuykendall!

Deputy Pedro Miqueo, who was the former CARON Director, was promoted to the rank of Sergeant and now is the Security Sergeant for the Maguire Correctional Facility. Sgt. Miqueo was raised on the Peninsula and after graduation, he enlisted in the Marine Corps. After completing his services in the Marines, he enlisted in the Air Force and served a total of 10 years including a combat tour in Iraq. He joined the Sheriff's Office in 2004 and has worked in all of its major divisions in the office. Congratulations, Sgt. Miqueo!

Deputy Victor Lopez was named the new Director of the Sheriff's Office Community Alliance to Revitalize Our Neighborhood (CARON) Program. Deputy Lopez has deep roots in the community and is already making a difference. Welcome, Deputy Lopez!
