Program Information

San Mateo County Parks in partnership with the San Mateo County Human Services Agency presents the Mariposa Program.

Individuals in San Mateo County that are benefit recipients of Medi-Cal, CalFresh, CalWORKs, and San Mateo County Access and Care for Everyone (ACE) are eligible for a free San Mateo County Park annual pass!

To request your free San Mateo County Park annual pass:

Contact the San Mateo County Human Services Agency at 650-508-3200. Please leave your name and phone number and someone will return your call.

Submit your request here to verify your current public benefit to receive a free San Mateo County Park annual pass.

Please allow 1-2 weeks for processing and mailing of your San Mateo County Park annual pass.

For inquiries about a request, you've already submitted, please contact Human Services Agency at (650) 508-3200.

If you are requesting a park pass renewal, please DO NOT request more than 4 weeks before the expiration date.

If you DO NOT live in San Mateo County and/or are NOT receiving public assistance benefits as listed above, you may purchase a park pass directly with the Parks Department by visiting their webpage.

Terms:

The Mariposa Program Park Pass is available to eligible households and is valid for 12 months from the date stated on your pass.

The Mariposa Pass covers the vehicle entry fee for the following San Mateo County Parks:
• Coyote Point Park
• Huddart Park
• Memorial Park
• San Pedro Valley Park
• Junipero Serra Park
• San Bruno Mountain Park

All other County parks are free to enter and do not require a Mariposa Pass. Only one pass will be issued to each household. Other Park fees, such as picnic and camping reservation fees, are not covered by the Mariposa Pass. The pass is non-replaceable and non-transferable.
