Updated Sept. 24, 2020: The state of California has announced that indoor restaurants, gyms, movie theaters and places of worship may now open with restrictions in San Mateo County.

Additional businesses and organizations may also open and certain activities may take place with restrictions as the county has moved to Tier 2 (Red) of the state’s four-tiered, color-coded reopening system. The most restrictive rules apply to Tier 1 (Purple) and the less restrictive to Tier 4 (Yellow).

All businesses and individuals must continue to follow health and safety guidelines. San Mateo County’s health order requiring face coverings, social distancing, and limited gatherings remains in effect.
