Bonnie MacAskill, Assistant Chief Probation Officer has been with the San Mateo County Probation Department for over 20 years.  She began her career as a Group Supervisor in the juvenile hall and was later promoted to a Deputy Probation Officer in the Adult Division where she spent 11 years as an intensive supervision and specialty court officer.  She joined the management team in 2011 where she worked in both the Adult and Juvenile Divisions.  Prior to being promoted to Assistant Chief, she served as the department’s first Director of Internal Affairs overseeing the Background Investigation and Training Unit. 

Assistant Chief MacAskill has a Bachelor’s Degree in Anthropology from San Francisco State University and Master’s Degree in Forensic Psychology from Argosy University.
