For holiday weekends in 2023, Bicycle Sunday, the weekly event that allows for non-motorized use of Cañada Road along Crystal Springs Regional Trail, will be canceled to meet the increased holiday needs for staffing at other parks in the area. Bicyclists and motorists, please be mindful to share the road.

Four years following an announcement by San Mateo County and Peninsula Open Space Trust (POST) to protect Tunitas Creek Beach and create a new beach park, a milestone was celebrated on December 15 at the groundbreaking ceremony for visitor facilities.

In November 2022, San Mateo County Parks released for review and comment a Draft Initial Study and Mitigated Negative Declaration (IS/MND) for the Wildfire Risk Reduction at Quarry County Park.

Park passes are now available to checkout for free from San Mateo County Libraries thanks to a partnership between libraries and the San Mateo County Parks Foundation focused on increasing access to local parks.

The pump track will be closed on Wednesdays, for either a part or full day, to perform maintenance. The track will also be closed during and following wet weather.

At the November 15, 2022 Board of Supervisors meeting, the Board accepted recommendations from its ad hoc subcommittee including rate changes for the annual park pass and tent and trailer camping fees for the 2023 camping season.

The Climate and Habitat Resiliency Plan for Pescadero Creek Park will be presented to the Board of Supervisors on December 6 for review.

Single-track trails in Sam McDonald Park and Pescadero Creek Park are currently closed to equestrians for winter. Fire roads remain open.

The Board of Supervisors has voted to provide an annual County Parks pass to individuals and families with low incomes.
