  • Intermittent Trail Closures for Invasive Species Management Work

    On weekdays between April 11 and May 15, weather permitting, workers will be at San Bruno Mountain treating invasive weed species including fennel, pincushion flower and ox-eye daisy. Treatment goals include the protection of sensitive plant and butterfly communities from competition by fast-spreading non-native speciesThis work will involve up to 16 days of targeted application of the herbicide triclopyr directly to the foliage of invasive plants.

    During the treatment, intermittent trail closures may take place on the following trails:

    • Dairy Ravine Trail
    • Eucalyptus Trail
    • Old Ranch Road Trail
    • Ridge Trail
    • Summit Trail between trail markers 17 & 19
    • The trail from Hillside Blvd to the Ridge Trail
    • Any social trails in the Southeast Ridge area
    • The trail up to the Ridge Trail from Buckeye Canyon
