With a project that began in June 2022, San Mateo County Parks and the San Mateo Resource Conservation District are increasing wildfire resiliency of Quarry Park and neighboring communities by treating up to 100 acres of dense fire fuels, including shrubs, small diameter trees, and hazardous trees, and creating a network of shaded fuel breaks along park fire roads and multi-use trails within the park.
This work is expected to last through mid-October and will require some trail closures Monday through Friday. Trail closures will be posted in the park. See a map of trails that may have closures during this project.
Be Advised, Be Safe
During this project, equipment will operate in the park and along the park boundary that will generate noise and dust. The equipment used to remove dead or hazardous trees can throw debris several feet and can pose a safety hazard. You can help expedite this important work by obeying all road and trail closure signs and avoiding the project area.
