Expect long Lines, Limited Parking & Cash Only for $6 Entry Fee
April 8, 2023
  • Coyote Point Recreation Area will reopen for weekend service only, beginning Saturday, April 8.  The park was significantly impacted by storms and is still without power due to a damaged high voltage power box.

Because large eucalyptus trees continue to fall, the top portion of the park and the Eucalyptus picnic area will be closed and fenced off to prevent access to high-risk areas. The Marina is only open to boat owners by appointment. The RV campsites are also closed.

The Promenade, and Magic Mountain and Beach areas will be open. See the closed area of the park indicated on the map below.

If you plan to visit Coyote Point this weekend, we ask that you:

    • Arrive early! Park rangers will collect entrance fee at the park entrance.
    • Bring cash.  Because there is no power, payment machines are not operating. The $6 vehicle entry fee can only be paid with cash unless you have a park pass.
    • Parking will be limited. Only half the park will be open. Rangers will turn cars away when parking areas are full.
