That was the basic question residents we invited you to answer at a series of listening sessions and in a survey that focused on four key areas: housing and homelessness, emergency preparedness, children and families and mental health. The listening sessions concluded last week. The survey closed Monday at midnight.
Redwood City – To help ensure wide participation, the County has extended the deadline to complete a survey on key community needs through Monday, Aug. 28. The survey “survey seeks to understand what San Mateo County residents need for themselves, their families, and their communities to thrive.”

Redwood City – The County will soon start taking applications for a grant fund for small businesses along Middlefield Road in North Fair Oaks that are struggling financially due to a road improvement project delayed by record winter rains and other challenges.

Redwood City – The Measure K Oversight Committee today presented a “Ten Years of Progress” report to the Board of Supervisors. The report lists accomplishments from the Measure K half-cent sales tax, first approved by voters in November 2012.
Note: This is a revised version posted at 5 p.m. Redwood City – The state has awarded $42.8 million to spur development of three local affordable housing projects, including coastal apartments reserved for farmworkers and their families. The funds will go to helping build a total of 212 units for residents with low incomes in projects in Daly City, Burlingame and Moss Beach, where 18 new apartments will be dedicated for farmworkers.
