SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO – The San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office in conjunction with the County of San Mateo, Citizens for San Mateo County Gun Buyback, and partners from several law enforcement agencies, will hold an anonymous gun buyback event on Saturday, May 4, 2024, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 1050 Mission Road in South San Francisco.

For holiday weekends in 2024, Bicycle Sunday, the weekly event that allows for non-motorized use of Cañada Road along Crystal Springs Regional Trail, will be canceled to meet the increased holiday needs for staffing at other parks in the area. Redwood City – San Mateo County Supervisors voted unanimously today to allocate $110 million for the upcoming fiscal year to expand services for the most vulnerable residents, tackle the causes of homelessness, improve parks and more.
