On May 1, 2000, the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) signed a 10-year Moving to Work (MTW) Agreement with the Housing Authority of the County of San Mateo (HACSM). Subsequently, the MTW agreement was extended through 2028.  The MTW demonstration provides HACSM more flexibility and authorization to develop policies that are outside the limitations of certain HUD regulations and enhances HACSM’s ability to serve the housing needs of low-income individuals and families in San Mateo County.

Vaccination continues to protect against severe COVID-19 illness, but with the COVID-19 Delta variant now infecting a small percentage of vaccinated people as well as many unvaccinated people, eight Bay Area health officers have issued Health Orders requiring masks indoors in public places. The Orders require all individuals, regardless of vaccination status, to wear face coverings when indoors in public settings, with limited exceptions, starting at 12:01 a.m. on Tuesday, August 3.
