San Mateo County Domestic Violence Council Statement Regarding the Sept. 8, 2022 Domestic Violence Homicide in San Carlos

Mid-morning on September 8, 2022, Ms. Karina Castro was brutally killed in a domestic violence incident. “As co-chairs of the San Mateo County Domestic Violence Council, Supervisor Groom and I are shocked and saddened to hear about the tragic and senseless death of Ms. Karina Castro in San Carlos on September 8, 2022. Ms. Castro is more than the headlines you will see about her death,” said Elisa Kuhl, Victim Services Program Manager of the San Mateo County District Attorney’s Office.

Resources Developed & Provided by Pride Center - Summer 2022

The San Mateo County Pride Center has been working hard to develop resources for the LGBTQ+ community and our allies/advocates. If it's not a training or community gathering, the Pride Center has clinical services and peer groups to offer. Notice of Public Hearing: FY2023 MTW Annual Plan

On May 1, 2000, the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) signed a 10-year Moving to Work (MTW) Agreement with the Housing Authority of the County of San Mateo (HACSM). Subsequently, the MTW agreement was extended through 2028.  The MTW demonstration provides HACSM more flexibility and authorization to develop policies that are outside the limitations of certain HUD regulations and enhances HACSM’s ability to serve the housing needs of low-income individuals and families in San Mateo County.

San Mateo County Marks 2021 Transgender Day of Remembrance
