LGBTQIA+ Commission Seeks Your Feedback!

The LGBTQIA+ Commission of San Mateo County wants to know what the LGBTQIA+ community and allies think are the biggest issues they face living here. We invite you to take this one minute survey to share your thoughts. Your feedback will help the Commission focus in on a topic for the next year as well as future issues to work on. The survey will close October 9 and the LGBTQIA+ Commission will share with you what they learned. The survey is anonymous and allows us to learn a bit more about what is important to you.

Resources Developed & Provided by Pride Center - Summer 2022

The San Mateo County Pride Center has been working hard to develop resources for the LGBTQ+ community and our allies/advocates. If it's not a training or community gathering, the Pride Center has clinical services and peer groups to offer. It has also mobilized its many years of relationships and partnerships to develop helpful guides and information that are super easy to access and download.

Notice of Public Hearing: FY2023 MTW Annual Plan

On May 1, 2000, the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) signed a 10-year Moving to Work (MTW) Agreement with the Housing Authority of the County of San Mateo (HACSM). Subsequently, the MTW agreement was extended through 2028.  The MTW demonstration provides HACSM more flexibility and authorization to develop policies that are outside the limitations of certain HUD regulations and enhances HACSM’s ability to serve the housing needs of low-income individuals and families in San Mateo County.

Board of Supervisors Create County Gun Buyback Program

REDWOOD CITY – Today, the San Mateo County Board of Supervisors approved a grant of up to $208,000 in Measure K Reserves to establish a San Mateo County Gun Buyback Program. 

San Mateo County Marks 2021 Transgender Day of Remembrance

For Immediate Release REDWOOD CITY – The San Mateo County Board of Supervisors today passed a Proclamation declaring November 19, 2021, Transgender Day of Remembrance in the County. This Board action will be accompanied by raising and flying the Transgender flag at the Hall of Justice in Redwood City and hosting a virtual remembrance ceremony. 

Sept. 28. 2021: San Mateo County’s First Homeless Navigation Center A Step Closer

Redwood City – The San Mateo County Board of Supervisors today took a major step toward fulfilling a decade-long pledge to effectively end homelessness. The Board voted 5-0 to approve a key agreement with the City of Redwood City that will allow development of a 240-bed, state-of-the-art shelter east of Highway 101 off of Maple Street. The shelter, called a Navigation Center, will provide intensive counseling and other supportive services.

Sept. 28, 2021: County Invests in Pandemic Recovery as Board of Supervisors Approves Revised Budget

Redwood City – The San Mateo County Board of Supervisors today unanimously approved a revised budget for the 2021-22 Fiscal Year that will help drive the economic recovery of individuals, families and small businesses hit by the pandemic. Overall, the $3.8 billion budget advances three key goals: economic recovery; ending homelessness; and ensuring that government policies and programs reach and lift every neighborhood in San Mateo County.
