Redwood City — With the presence of avian flu in the Bay Area, San Mateo County Health is advising residents who keep backyard birds or domestic flocks to protect them from contact with wild birds and for the public to take precautions when handling dead birds.

County of San Mateo Awarded $340,000 to Help Foster Youth With Housing Costs

Redwood City – The County of San Mateo has been awarded $340,677 to provide housing assistance to youth who are transitioning out of foster care and are experiencing or at risk of experiencing homelessness. County Health Pauses COVID-19 Community Vaccine Clinics to Resume Mid-September with New Boosters

Redwood City – San Mateo County Health’s community COVID-19 vaccine clinics are temporarily closed and are expected to reopen after September 12 when they will offer the new booster shot. With the recent Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) authorization of the new bivalent Omicron booster, the current monovalent COVID-19 vaccines are no longer authorized to be used as boosters.
