San Mateo County Marks 2021 Transgender Day of Remembrance

For Immediate Release REDWOOD CITY – The San Mateo County Board of Supervisors today passed a Proclamation declaring November 19, 2021, Transgender Day of Remembrance in the County. This Board action will be accompanied by raising and flying the Transgender flag at the Hall of Justice in Redwood City and hosting a virtual remembrance ceremony.

The San Mateo County Board of Supervisors adopted a proclamation declaring June 2021 as LGBTQQI2S Pride Month in San Mateo County and has ordered the Progress Pride Flag to be flown at County Center and other County facilities. New Commissioners join the Commission on the Status of Women!

The Commission on the Status of Women of San Mateo County received tremendous response for its vacancy recruitment. Over 24 applications were received from throughout San Mateo County and after a thorough review by a panel comprised of two County supervisors and representatives from the Commission and staff, seven applicants were offered appointments to the Commission.
