After months and months of public meetings and community outreach, more than 2500 people commented on the traffic design features that they hoped the planned undergrounding and redesign project would bring to the downtown area of North Fair Oaks.

As part of her duties as San Mateo County’s first Poet Laureate, Caroline Goodwin will open tomorrow’s Board of Supervisors’ meeting with a poetry reading and Supervisor Warren Slocum will present a proclamation to the Board of Supervisors naming April 2014 as National Poetry Month. Ms. Goodwin also plans to announce her poetry blog that can be read on the Poet Laureate website, www.sanmateocountypoet.org
Today, upon my recommendation, the San Mateo County Board of Supervisors unanimously approved the appointment of Manuel Ramirez to the San Mateo County Planning Commission. Mr. Ramirez is believed to be the first Latino appointee in the history of the County’s Planning Commission. He will represent the 4th Supervisorial District on the Planning Commission; his term commences immediately and will expire on January 10, 2017.
