  • Commission seeks public input at virtual meeting with special focus on District 5

    The County of San Mateo's 2021 Supervisorial District Lines Advisory Commission is seeking the public's input on redistricting at a meeting beginning at 6:30 p.m. today, Monday, Sept. 20, 2021.

    The all-volunteer commission is holding a series of meetings to hear from the public and to introduce mapping tools to help draw districts based on new federal Census data.

    Residents are encouraged to share information about their neighborhoods and their communities of interest -- a population that shares common social or economic interests.

    All are welcome to participate. Today's meeting will have a special focus on the following cities and communities:

    ► Brisbane
    ► Colma
    ► Daly City
    ► San Bruno
    ► South San Francisco
    ► Unincorporated communities currently in District 5.

    Live intepretation will be available in Tagalog, Spanish and Mandarin.

    Residents are encouraged to:

     

    ► Share your story
    ► Define your neighborhood or community of interest
    ► Explain why redistricting is relevant to your community
    ► Get the tools you need to draw a map of one district or of all five districts
    ► Share your opinions of the draft maps
    ► Talk to your neighbors and local organizations
