The VTO Program Open Enrollment is open from May 2nd to June 2nd . VTO is an option for County employees who are looking to balance their work and personal/family demands.
Interested employees are encouraged to FIRST discuss with their manager/supervisor to determine if VTO is a good option and meets the Department’s operational needs.
VTO is a program that offers Full Time employees the option to request from their Department Head and direct management a reduction in their salary for the FY 2022-2023 to “pay” for the VTO hours through a reduction in your paycheck for the remainder of the fiscal year. As such, your hourly rate for the remaining fiscal year will be reduced by the VTO percentage of hours you choose (increments of 1% up to 20% maximum)
VTO hours can be used to offer employees a shorter workday (e.g. 7.5 hour work day), a shorter work week (e.g. one day off per bi-weekly pay period), or as a block time off (e.g. one week off during the year or to help stay in a paid status during a leave of absence).
Your requested schedule and approval must be mutually agreed upon between you and your supervisor to ensure operational needs can still be met.
Eligibility Requirements:
- You must be a full-time employee.
- Your Supervisor and Department Head must approve your request to participate in the VTO program.
Details and Tools:
- VTO Fact Sheet provides more information and details on the program.
- VTO Calculation Table will help you determine the number of “time off hours” that will be available to you based upon the VTO salary reduction percentage you select.
- If you wish to participate in the VTO program for 2022-2023, you should complete the VTO process through Workday (see VTO Quick Reference Card for Workday instructions (dates listed on QRC are for illustrative purposes ONLY)
You can also Register in LMS and join us for a VTO Lunch and Learn Session through Microsoft Teams!
- May 5, 2022, 12:00pm – 1:00pm
- May 19, 2022, 12:00pm – 1:00pm
VTO applications are accepted year-round. However, employees who wish to get the maximum time off for the 2020-2021 fiscal year must submit a VTO application no later than June 2, 2022.
*If you are currently enrolled in VTO for the 2021-2022 fiscal year, you have until June 11th to utilize any remaining VTO hours. Unused hours will be calculated and reimbursed in August/September.
