Can employees be eligible for multiple bonuses due to job changes?

If an employee promotes into an eligible job profile, the employee is eligible for the additional hiring incentives. Employees promoted within a Flexibly-staffed position are not eligible for additional hiring incentives.

What happens if an employee’s Full Time/Part Time status changes during their course of employment and the incentives program?

The incentives are calculated and paid out based on the original FTE status. Employees who voluntarily demote into a non-qualifying job class after receiving a portion of the hiring incentive will no longer be eligible for the program and shall forfeit the remainder of any future amounts.

The Hiring Incentive Amount will be prorated for part-time employees based on their full-time equivalent status. Please see the Recruitment & Retention Board Memo for details.

What happens to the remaining incentives payments if the pilot program is not extended past the 1-Year Board approval?

The eligible employees will receive the remaining payments as scheduled and according to guidelines.

Are current County employees eligible for the incentives if they apply and are offered a job from the applicable job class?

Current staff promoted internally or from other County departments into regular applicable job class are eligible.

If an employee leaves the County and returns as a re-hire, are they eligible for the hiring incentives?

Employees who are re-appointed into an applicable job class either by voluntary demotion/reinstatement or rehire/reinstatement are not eligible.
