San Mateo County residents are currently required to shelter in place, per the Health Officer’s order, for the safety of themselves, their loved ones and the community. But sometimes essential workers must travel to their place of employment and getting necessities like groceries or prescriptions might mean leaving the house.

So, how can we get around when it is necessary?

The COVID-19 health scare has led our local public transportation agencies to modify the way they provide service, including scheduling changes and face covering requirements. Check directly with each agency to learn more.

Our local ride share partners, Lyft and Uber, are also helping residents get where they need to go during this critical time by providing free rides.

For those whose personal vehicle travel takes them across Bay Area bridges, please note that cash toll collection is suspended.

Non-essential travel is currently paused under the Health Officer’s Shelter in Place order. But for those needing to fly, San Francisco International Airport, has also implemented changes. Please visit flysfo.com to learn more.
