Our office recently offered the first CERT Academy and we couldn’t have done it without the two great instructors – Jeff Norris & Sandra Firpo. To keep our CERT Academy participants engaged in all 8 lectures the instructors had to be energetic and knowledge on the subject and that’s what we got from Jeff and Sandra.
Jeff, is the Emergency Service Coordinator of the Office of Emergency Services (OES). He has been with OES since 2004 and has been an active member of the San Mateo County Sheriff’s Search and Rescue Team since 1978. He has a vast wealth knowledge and experience in public safety and the class clearly saw that! Jeff not only brought his knowledge to the CERT academy but also his great sense of humor that kept the class laughing.
Sandra Firpo, has great experience with CERT Academy all over San Mateo County and she was key to our success as she translated the whole class into Spanish. The cohort truly appreciated her enthusiasm.
