  • On Tuesday, June 2, 2015 the San Mateo County Board of Supervisors unanimously voted to establish a Veterans Commission to better serve the needs of the 33,000 veterans who live here. As a Vietnam Veteran, the establishment of a Veterans Commission  is near and dear to my heart. I believe it's an important way to honor the service of our veterans and to understand the unique challenges and needs of the veterans in our County.

The Commission will be comprised of nine (9) voting members who will serve 3-year terms. I look forward to working with this group and our County Veterans Services officers to address the unmet needs of veterans in San Mateo County. We will open the recruitment for veterans interested in serving on the Veterans Commission soon.  If you are interested, I encourage you to apply.
