  • I had the honor and distinct pleasure of participating in Operation Recognition, a special commencement program for veterans of the Korean War, World War II, and the Japanese Internment, whose high school education was interrupted due to wartime circumstances. San Mateo County Superintendent of Schools Anne Campbell organized the commencement celebration to recognize five veterans from our County who never received their diplomas due to the events of war. They are:  Robert Osorio, William Rooz, Nicholas Sakelarios, Vincent Schoenstein, and Clifford Trott.  Through their honorable military service, they have more than earned this diploma.  Congrats to all!
