  • Last night we held the first session of the Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) Academy in North Fair Oaks. It was a full class with 39 CERT volunteers registered for the academy.

It is the first time a CERT Academy is being offered in North Fair Oaks. Not only that but all 8 sessions will be taught in both English and Spanish! We know there is a need for this academy because the class filled up in just a few days.

The goal of this CERT Academy is to prepare North Fair Oaks volunteers to assist emergency service personnel during a disaster and for volunteers to assist their families and neighborhood.

The CERT sessions will take place every Tuesday from 6:30pm – 9:00pm. I would like to thank the Office of Emergency Services for all their help. We are looking forward to District 4 first CERT Academy graduates later this summer.
