  • Do you know a San Mateo County veteran who is deserving of the first annual Veteran of the Year award – a resident veteran who has distinguished him or herself through outstanding service to the County’s veteran community during the period of 2015-2016? We are also looking for nominations the Patriot of the Year (a resident who has demonstrated exceptional service to the County’s veterans and veteran community) and the Enterprise Support Partner of the Year (a for-profit or non-for-profit corporation that has demonstrated exemplary service to the County’s veteran community)?

The Veterans Commission is now accepting nominations for each of the award categories. Nomination forms may be found at https://hsa.smcgov.org/veterans-publications or at the San Mateo County Veteran Services Office at 400 Harbor Blvd., Building B, Belmont, CA 94002. For questions, please contact the Norman Aleman, San Mateo County’s Veteran Services Officer at (650) 802-7501 or at naleman@smcgov.org.

During the week that celebrates Veterans Day, these deserving individuals will be honored at our first annual Veterans of the Year luncheon that will be held on Thursday, November 10th. Details will be announced soon!
