OYE Conference Poster

The 5th annual OYE Conference is a conference for Latino youth ages 12-22 who live in San Mateo County. At this conference, youth will explore the questions of identity, purpose and have the opportunity to build community together. Inspirational speakers, hands-on workshops, artistic expression, dance, community resource sharing, networking, the college application process, lunch and fun will be included in the conference! The conference will present a State of Latinos in San Mateo County Address at the opening of the conference.

This conference, a project of the North Fair Oaks Youth Initiative (NFOYI), is a year-long youth leadership collaborative. They envision a world where every young person in the North Fair Oaks and Redwood City areas are equipped with the tools, personal power, opportunities, and full support to make healthy decisions for themselves and become positive resources for their peers and the greater North Fair Oaks community. This year they've expanded the conference to Latino Youth thoughout San Mateo County. It's the only conference of its kind in our County.

This year it will be held Cañada College, 4200 Farm Hill Blvd, Redwood City, CA 94061.

Parents are welcome to attend the conference - and yes - there are workshops for parents, workshops like how to help your child secure financial aid for college!

Childcare is provided - at no charge.
