The Immigrant Youth Committee is a sub-committee of the San Mateo County Youth Commission. The mission of this Committee is to examine and address immigrant youth issues in San Mateo County and every yar, the committee selects five outstanding immigrant youth to receive a $1,000 scholarship.  

Application Criteria
  • Must be a student in 12th grade or higher, up to 25 years old.
  • Must be an immigrant student or first generation American (child of an immigrant).
  • Must reside in San Mateo County.
  • Past and present members of the San Mateo County Youth Commission are ineligible.
  • Past recipients of the Immigrant Youth Scholarship are ineligible.
  • The Immigrant Youth Scholarship is open to all, without regard to gender, race, ethnicity, nationality, sexual orientation, disability, citizenship status, religious or political affiliation, or any other identifier.
  • Immigration/citizenship status will be kept confidential.
