My career started with the City of Belmont for 35 years in both the Park and Recreation Department and spent the last 33 years in the police department. I was the Police Chief for the last nine years and served in all department capacities.
I recently returned to the San Mateo County Department of Emergency Management in February 2021 after serving as the Emergency Manager at Santa Clara University since 2016. Before that, I was a Supervisor with the San Mateo County Sheriff's Office, Homeland Security, and Office of Emergency Services.
Working with and for communities in San Mateo County and working in Public Safety has always been important to me, and the Department of Emergency Management has given me this opportunity.
Education: B.S. in Behavioral Science, a Master's in Public Administration Degrees, and graduated from the FBI National Academy, US Army War College NSS, and taught Sociology at NDNU for five years.
