Countywide Housing Solutions Network

In late 2006, the San Mateo County Department of Housing initiated the Countywide Housing Solutions Network (CHSN), a collaborative effort to improve alignment among a host of complementary activities and initiatives being undertaken by a wide array of public and private organizations. To further bolster existing housing production efforts, the CHSN will also direct attention and resources to fill gaps in technical knowledge and actions.

As a whole, San Mateo County is making significant strides in building the partnerships and technical resources necessary to address the housing need in our communities. This website showcases areas of major progress in the last year. Each of these resources brings us one step closer to solving the housing crisis by strengthening collaborations, promoting workable solutions, and providing information to deepen our understanding of the housing need.

	We are proud to partner with multiple housing and community activists and organizations to facilitate a network of housing organizations and activists as well as formulate a strategy to create realistic housing solutions.
	To improve alignment, communication, and achieve desired outcomes, the Countywide Housing Solutions Network is collaborating with complimentary housing activities and initiatives addressing the housing situation in San Mateo County.
	The Countywide Housing Solutions Network produced a series of handouts, a short video, and a draft version of the strategy to highlight current research and best practices to employ to build and leverage more housing.
